Embracer Freemode has officially announced the launch of its new premium gaming hardware brand, CRKD. This brand aims to provide passionate gamers with a range of distinct and collectable products designed to elevate their gaming experience to new heights.
CRKD is the result of a collaborative effort by creators with extensive experience in software, industrial design, artwork, engineering, and consumer electronics. The brand’s primary goal is to deliver innovative and high-quality hardware for gaming enthusiasts worldwide.
One of the unique features of the CRKD range is the “True Collection System,” a companion app for iOS and Android devices. This proprietary technology securely verifies the digital proof of physical ownership for each product in the CRKD lineup.
The flagship product of the CRKD range is the Nitro Deck, a professional Handheld Deck specifically designed for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED consoles. This must-have accessory enhances the handheld gaming experience by seamlessly integrating with the console. The Nitro Deck features thumbsticks with Hall Effect sensors to eliminate stick drift and offers interchangeable Thumbstick Toppers for customizable control. With USB-C connectivity, gamers can expect ultra-low latency, and the inclusion of remappable Back Buttons provides additional versatility for individual play styles. The Nitro Deck also features a plug-and-play USB-C input for charging while gaming and a USB-C output for easy connection to the Nintendo Switch Dock, allowing gamers to use the Nitro Deck as an external controller.
The CRKD range is designed with enthusiasts in mind, offering a variety of options to suit different preferences. At launch, the Nitro Deck will be available in seven variations, including White, Black, and Grey, as well as limited edition designs like the Classic Grey and Retro Purple from the CRKD Nostalgia Collection.
To emphasize its commitment to collaborations, CRKD has partnered with Limited Run Games for a day-one collaboration. Limited Run Games will release two limited edition Nitro Decks in Atomic Purple and Glacier Blue, with a production run of only 1000 units per color. These special designs will be exclusively available for pre-order on the Limited Run Games website.
The Nitro Decks in the limited editions come bundled with a high-quality Carry Case, a 5m (8.2ft) USB-C cable, and an extra set of Thumbstick Toppers. Renowned hardware art designer POPeArt will also be working on upcoming designs for the Nitro Deck, providing fans with fresh and creative options.
Furthermore, the CRKD range offers a collectible experience. Users can register their hardware using the “True Collection System” app, allowing them to unveil their product number, discover rarity ranks, and securely add their CRKD collection. The app will also provide users with product release news, updates, and announcements, making it an essential part of the CRKD ecosystem.
