trek_support_charging_backpackTravelling techies, rejoice! A checkpoint-friendly backpack that powers and protects your laptop and gadgets is official released this week. And the Trek Support has been created using Quirky‘s innovative community development system.

“This stylish backpack features a removable battery-powered USB gadget dock, which can charge up to three electronic items at a time,” a Quirky spokesman said.

“It also has a detachable laptop sleeve at the rear, designed specifically for travellers. Just unzip Trek Support’s main compartment, lay the laptop side flat, and place it on the conveyor belt for speedier TSA security checks.” 

Other features include:
* A detachable laptop sleeve that fits most 15-inch laptops
* A gadget dock with up to seven hours of integrated rechargeable battery life
* Specially designed pockets to house iPads/eReaders, phones, MP3 players, portable gaming systems, cameras, and other gadgets
* Outside pockets.

Trek Support is made of durable waterproof rip-stop nylon, with rubber-coated zippers and open-air mesh padding on the back and straps for comfort and support.

Trek Support is the 53rd product designed and developed by the Quirky community since June 2009. Each week, Quirky selects new product idea from its community to develop and produce.

The Trek Support comes in charcoal, with bright blue accents and reflective areas on the logo and bungee cord. it is available for now for pre-sale in Quirky’s online store for $130 (around £83), with a usual price of $150 after that period. Production commences once the minimum order number is reached.
