Everyone has slept through the alarm. But Sony reckons its new alarm clock will throw some light on that problem…

Yes, when Sony says it has a “multi-feature clock radio” it includes a projector among those features.

The new ICF-C717PJ has a variable-angle projector that displays the time on your wall or ceiling. “Just twist the lens module to any angle and beam a super-sized time display onto any wall or ceiling for comfortable viewing,” the Sony announcement says.

Users can also relax to the soothing noise of five nature sounds, while a room thermometer displays the temperature to help you get a comfortable night’s sleep.

There’s even an input for a digital music player so you can wake up to your tunes through the device.

The new ICF-C717PJ clock radio from Sony is available from April 2010. No price yet.
