Apple Mac tablet PC rumours surface

Apple fanboys will be suitable whipped up into a frenzy if the rumours are to be believed. Apple is gearing up for a tablet PC launch in January.

According to a report in Digitimes, Foxconn has been given the nod to ship up to 400,000 devices to hit the market in the first quarter of next year.

Sources said the device will have a 10.6-inch display from Innolux and would have features more closely associated with e-book readers than laptops or even iPods. It will be rumoured to sport a long battery life, fast internet connectivity and an easy user interface.

The sources also reckon a slew of me-too products will appear in the second quarter with Hewlett-Packard leading the charge with a similar type of device.
