Micron Technology has announced the launch of the Crucial T500 NVMe SSD, engineered to enhance performance for gamers and content creators.
With sequential read and write speeds up to 7,400MB/s and 7,000MB/s respectively, the T500 enables gamers to load games up to 16% faster compared to previous generation SSDs. It also allows content creators to achieve up to 42% faster performance in creative applications.
The T500 leverages Micron’s advanced 232-layer 3D NAND technology, delivering best-in-class read/write speeds and 40% higher performance per watt. It’s now available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities, with a 4TB version coming in 2024.
For gamers, the T500 provides quicker game texture loading and reduced CPU utilization with Microsoft’s DirectStorage API. The SSD is an easy upgrade for PlayStation 5 consoles or high-end gaming PCs.
For creators producing 4K or 8K video, the T500 SSD enables faster project workflows and reduced render times. Both the heatsink and non-heatsink versions fit a wide range of desktops, laptops and workstations.
“With growing game libraries and creative applications demanding higher bandwidth, the Crucial T500 unleashes next-gen system performance,” said Micron’s Jonathan Weech.
The Crucial T500 NVMe SSD starts at $74.99 and is available worldwide from Crucial.com and leading retailers.
