Great news for fans of the Batman stealth’n’batarang-‘em-up game Arkham Asylum! The ridiculously popular title was always bound to lead to a sequel but Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have now formally announced it…
The official moniker for the sequel is Batman: Arkham City, and it will be available on Xbox 360, Windows PC and the PlayStation 3 in Autumn 2011.
“Developed by Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City, the new maximum security ‘home’ for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds,” a Warner Bros. suit told AG.
“Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe.”
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment also promises “a vast range” of new and enhanced gameplay features.
