Not so with the new Imou Ranger Pro, which provides a wide range of impressive features including PTZ with 355-degree pan and 90-degree tilt, Human detection – which can then smart track with PTZ, Sony starves sensor with colour night vision (dependant on ambient light), Two-way talk, Privacy mask, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, MicroSD and cloud storage options, ONVIF compatibility for network video recording systems such as Blue Iris and Synology Surveillance station, and Alexa, Google and IFTTT functionality.
It is a very modern designed indoor security camera and has all the features needed to keep an eye on the house. The housing of this camera is made from shiny plastic, which looks modern and expensive. There is an ethernet port on the back if you don’t have WIFI and also a microSD card slot (support up to 256GB) to save your videos on it.
We managed to set up in less than 30 minutes, once I plugged the camera into the DC adapter a small LED started to flash. We had to download an app to a phone, connect to the camera and then it is ready to use. However, it can also be used with your PC by downloading the software from the Imou website and you will need to create a new account to use them.
The camera can be connected to your network using wired or wireless, we chose to use the wired method as it is faster and more stable. With help from the well-designed app we were up and running in minutes.
The camera and app have loads of settings you can configure, and the app is very easy to use. All settings and movement can be adjusted and tracked via the app.
Overall, image quality is excellent. It’s well-made and compared with the cheaper brands this one has better translations, and easier to use app and better packaging.
It offers great protection and peace of mind. Very good quality product and is incredible value when you see how impressive it really is.
