What should have been a smooth launch for Sky Player on the Xbox failed after an unknown problem streaming television on the console.
However, 24 hours later the launch should finally go through, allowing eager gamers the chance to watch Ross Kemp’s face in Xboxtastic high definition.
The new service should have went live on Tuesday, however embarrassingly for the companies, the service was suspended over a problem streaming television onto the console.
“The service has been suspended due to an unforeseen technical issue.” Sky said in a statement. “Sky Player engineers are hard at work to resolve the problem. We expect to have the full service available on Wednesday.”
The project has taken nearly six months to get off the ground and the delayed launch has spelled disaster for the companies keen to take the media center crown from Sony and its Blu-ray enabled PS3.
