Headphone manufacturers Bowers & Wilkins has joined up with Maserati to introduce a special edition version of its P5 portable headphones.
The P5 Maserati headphones have trident emblems on each side of the headband and on the soft carry case for the headphones. Aside from that, it is exactly the same as the P5. The Trident was designed by Mario Maserati in 1926, based on the statue of Neptune in the fountain of Bologna’s Piazza Maggiore.
According to the manufacturer, the P5 offers “unfatiguing natural sound from the use of specially developed, ultra-linear neodymium magnets and highly optimised Mylar diaphragms”
Maximum noise isolation is through a combination of sealed-leather ear pads and a closed-back design featuring a rigid metal faceplate; and extreme comfort for extended listening.
Like the original P5 Mobile Hi-Fi Headphone, P5 Maserati Edition is supplied with a Made For iPhone-approved cable, which allows for speech and device control, as well as a high-quality, standard audio cable with gold-plated plugs.
The Bowers & Wilkins P5 Maserati Edition headphones cost £329.99 and are available from selected retailers and the company’s website www.bowers-wilkins.co.uk/shop. The normal P5 headphones cost £249.99.
B&W have also announced an 805 Maserati edition loudspeaker set.
The 905 Maserati loudspeakers are made using birds eye maple wood veneer and black Maserati leather. A pair of the 805 Maserati speakers will set you back £7,500.
The firm also does tuned in-car audio systems for the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte.
