Did you know that Brits have wasted £7.27bn on digital stuff they can’t figure out how to use, with a whopping 56 per cent of Brits wasting their hard earned money? Amazingly, 78 per cent of Brits even admit having shouted at their technology. That’s sparked the Virgin Group to launch its first new company in the UK for three years – Virgin Digital Help.
The new tech support service couldn’t have been launched at a better time, with plenty of new gizmos and gadgets being given as presents this Christmas – everything from phones, games consoles and PCs.
“The company will revolutionise the way British consumers solve problems with their digital stuff using a combination of downloadable tools, online and phone support, and home visits,” an AVG PR person tells Absolute Gadget.
AVG has produced a short video with Virgin about the statistics of digital stress, which you can find on YouTube here.
Virgin company offers a free Desktop Digital Helper, which bundles a number of software programs – such as AVG 9.0 – and 100 self-help guides.
Customers can also buy automated patches for £2.99 a month, or order custom services that could go as high as a home visit for £90.
