dev_patel_the_commuterLondon’s finest (and the AG team) headed to Aqua Nueva last night to see the premiere of the Nokia N8 short film The Commuter – starring Dev Patel, Pamela Anderson, Ed Westwick and Charles Dance.

Guests were first to see the hotly-anticipated short, which was directed by the UKs up and coming directorial pairing, the McHenry brothers. The film was shot entirely on the Nokia N8 in HD 720p.

Here’s the PR plug for the phone:
“With the Nokia N8, users can create exciting content, connect to their favourite social networks and enjoy on-demand Web TV programs and Ovi Store apps. The Nokia N8 boasts a 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and a sensor rivalling those found in compact digital cameras. Additionally the Nokia N8 smartphone enables everyone to bring out their inner film director by recording HD-quality videos and edit them with an intuitive, built-in editing suite.”

So what did we think? Well, for a film shot on a mobile phone it looked incredibly professional and Nokia makes a strong case for the video capabilities of its N8 phone.

Of course, you can make up your own mind by viewing The Commuter when it goes online at Nokia’s YouTube page…
