If you buy one of Samsung’s new Windows 7 mobile phones, the Omnia 7, you will be able to call using HD Voice, but only on Orange.

The Omnia 7 is one of a raft of new phone sporting Microsoft’s latest effort to maintain credibility in the smartphone market. The device sports HD Voice, which is claimed to offer crystal clear calls with other users of the service that’ll sound like you are in the same room as each other. The technology was launched by Orange last month and is available on a limited number of handsets at present.

While calling in HD doesn’t cost anything extra, the service will appeal to some users on top of the AMOLED display the Omnia 7 also boasts.
