Put in a pre-order for an iPad? You might find yourself waiting longer than you wanted.
Apple’s UK online shop says that rather than the original launch date of May 28, the tablet will ship “by June 7”.
Of course, this could be a case of Apple just preparing for any shipping problems – the use of “by” means it could ship earlier, and this is just their way of avoiding complaints. Such a tactic is still used on the U.S. shop’s page.
But we wouldn’t be surprised if demand is outstripping supply. It’s pretty much the standard practice for any new gadget these days, after all…
